Since February 2025, the EU AI Act is in force. Article 4 requires all companies deploying AI systems to train their employees.
Penalties already apply
The regulation's penalty chapter has applied since 2 August 2025. How member states give effect to it is still taking shape. The AI literacy obligation under Article 4 has applied since February 2025 — companies should be able to demonstrate they meet it.
